Here I will answer some of the basic questions about genetics on Tygras!

What are the different strengths of markings on tygras?
The gene strength ranges from none, vestigial, average, strong, and full. These will be discussed later in the "strength" section.

Is there a differece between genes 1-4?
There does not currently seem to be a difference between what genes 1-4 do; they are basically four equal parts to one whole.

Which species of tygras is dominant?
The ocilynx breed of tygras is dominant over the pymgy breed, meaning that when you breed the two together you will most likely get an ocilynx cub.

Is my cub going to have this marking/will you be able to see it on them?
If one of the parents has the marking, and it is not almost all "None" in the gene string, then the cub will get the marking. Whether you will be able to see it or not depends on the strength and the layering, as well as what color it will be against its background. Continue through this genetics tutorial to learn about these aspects of Tygras genetics!

Will my cubs get all of their marking colors from the same parent?
Maybe - the cubs can get a range of colors betweren parents markings, and each marking is colored independently of the other! See the "colors" section for more information.

What are my chances of getting a male or female cub and can I change that?
Male versus female genders of cubs is 50/50, just like in real life. If you equip your female tygra with a female halo, her cubs should be female.

Can I ever get rid of markings I don't want on higher generation tygras?
Yes - if you continue to breed out from a marking, it will eventually disappear off of the cub's list of markings. See the "strength" question for more details!

Is there any way I can make a cub look more like one parent than the other?
No, the marking colors will be decided randomly, and the strength and layering have a preset way of being determined as well. Part of what makes breeding on Tygras so fun is that it is so random!
